In my opinion, this activist tradition is not just a historical footnote but a vital component of Kenya’s ongoing struggle for justice and equity. Civil society’s role in advocating for human rights, environmental protection, and economic justice has never been more important. Reclaiming this activist role is essential for addressing the current socio-political and economic challenges facing the country.
