In my opinion, Kenya must continue to prioritize infrastructure development as a key driver of economic expansion. The benefits of well-planned and executed infrastructure projects are immense, from boosting trade and investment to creating jobs and reducing poverty. However, it is essential that these developments are pursued in a sustainable and inclusive manner.
To achieve this, the government should focus on strategic planning and ensure that infrastructure projects align with the country’s long-term development goals. There should also be a concerted effort to improve infrastructure in rural and marginalized areas, ensuring that all Kenyans can benefit from economic growth.
Additionally, the government should explore alternative financing options, such as PPPs, to reduce the reliance on debt while still meeting the country’s infrastructure needs. By involving the private sector, Kenya can leverage additional resources and expertise to accelerate its infrastructure development agenda.
