In my opinion, this shift presents both opportunities and challenges. On the one hand, the Western emphasis on individual choice and personal fulfillment can empower individuals to make relationship decisions that best suit their needs and desires. On the other hand, it can sometimes conflict with traditional Kenyan values that prioritize communal harmony, family approval, and adherence to established norms.
