In my opinion, while AI holds incredible potential for transforming Kenyan society positively, it is accompanied by complex ethical challenges that must be addressed proactively. Data privacy, bias, job displacement, and ethical use are crucial issues that need careful consideration as AI technologies become more integrated into various aspects of life. By establishing strong regulations, promoting transparency, and ensuring inclusive and fair practices, Kenya can harness the benefits of AI while safeguarding against its potential risks. It’s essential for stakeholders—including policymakers, businesses, and civil society—to collaborate in creating a framework that ensures AI contributes to the greater good and enhances the quality of life for all Kenyans.
