In my opinion, the enduring power of tribalism in Kenyan elections is a major challenge that we must confront if we are to achieve genuine democratic governance and national cohesion. While tribal identities are an important part of Kenya’s cultural fabric, their influence in politics should not overshadow the principles of merit, equality, and national unity. It’s time for Kenya to embrace a more inclusive and equitable approach to politics, where leadership is based on capability and vision rather than ethnic loyalty.
