In my opinion, the shift in how divorce is viewed in Kenya is largely driven by the changing roles of women, increased urbanization, and exposure to global cultures. Traditionally, Kenyan society placed a high value on marriage as a lifelong commitment, often expecting couples to endure hardships in silence for the sake of family and community honor. However, with more women entering the workforce, gaining financial independence, and asserting their rights, the dynamics within marriages are changing.
