In my opinion, both the Kenyan government and the private sector have crucial roles to play in improving Kenya’s Olympic performance. The government must prioritize sports development by allocating more funds to the Ministry of Sports and ensuring that these resources are used effectively. This includes supporting grassroots sports programs, upgrading sports facilities, and providing financial incentives for athletes to train full-time.
The private sector can also contribute by sponsoring athletes and sports teams, funding sports academies, and organizing competitions that allow athletes to gain experience and exposure. Public-private partnerships could be instrumental in developing sports that have been historically underrepresented in Kenya.
