In my opinion, the future of smart cities in Kenya holds great promise if approached thoughtfully and inclusively. Embracing smart city technologies can address many of the challenges faced by urban centers, from improving infrastructure to enhancing service delivery and sustainability. However, it is vital to approach this transformation with a focus on equity, data privacy, and public involvement. By addressing these challenges head-on and investing in the necessary infrastructure, Kenya can build smart cities that truly benefit all its citizens and set a benchmark for technological progress in the region.
