In my opinion, Kenya needs to adopt a more nuanced approach to its trade policies. While trade liberalization is important for integrating into the global economy, it should not come at the expense of local industries. There needs to be a careful assessment of which sectors require protection and support, and which can benefit from exposure to international competition.
